The History of Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center
Dispute Resolution Centers have been in existence in Washington State since 1984 in accordance with Washington State statute RCW 7.75. Through the leadership of founding director Lynn Yialelis and the Equal Justice Advisory Council, the Wenatchee Valley Dispute Resolution Center (WVDRC) began to take shape in 2005 with a vision to offer alternative dispute resolution and mediation services to the community. Recruitment and training of certified mediators began in October 2005. On February 20, 2006, Chelan County Commissioners passed Resolution 2006-26 authorizing the creation and operation of the WVDRC.
The WVDRC is a member of Resolution Washington, a network of 21 nonprofit Dispute Resolution Centers across the state committed to providing cost-effective conflict resolution services and expertise that empowers communities to work together to resolve conflicts and find solutions.
